Food Safety
PFS’s first priority is always safety. One of the ways in which the company guarantees the safety of its customer product is by participating in the BRC Global Standards. BRC is a food safety and quality certification program. Select PFS locations (with more in the process of actively obtaining certification) are certificated in the Global Standard for Storage and Distribution. This standard specifically promotes best practices in handling, storage, and distribution of products.

The standard is divided into eight main sections:

  • senior management commitment and continuous improvement
  • hazard and risk analysis
  • quality management system
  • site and building standards
  • vehicle operating standards
  • facility management
  • good operating practices
  • personnel hygiene and training
PFS’s participation in the program is part of an ongoing commitment to food safety and continuous improvement.

We also provide a whole host of value-added services including but not limited to: cross docking, transloading, repacking, labeling, shrink-wrapping, shipping product samples and taking weights (electronically). All of our facilities are staffed by highly trained personnel and are HACCP certified, with several of them undergoing regular FDA & USDA inspections. Several facilities are also audited by NSF International.
